As a skincare product oil often gets a bad rap. There have been many times when we’ve recommended our Miraculous Facial Oil to a customer and they’ve looked at us in sheer horror!
In the beauty market, those with oily skin have been religiously told to purchase “oil-free” products to keep the blackheads away and pimples at bay, and oil has been portrayed as the ultimate villain…
We can understand people’s skepticism, as it may seem counterintuitive to apply more oil to already shine-plagued skin. However, ironically, if shine-free radiant skin is the aim, oil may very well be the solution. You may still be a little (or very) skeptical, so let me explain why.
Your skin produces excess sebum (the stuff that clogs pores and causes breakouts) when its oil levels aren’t balanced. Therefore, if you strip your skin’s natural oils by over cleansing, your body will actually produce more oil to compensate. This creates a vicious cycle, as you apply more oil-free products to keep the oil at bay, the oil continues to builds up – leaving you with shiny skin and constant breakouts.
Skin needs Essential Fatty Acids to stay adequately hydrated. But despite this, your body cannot produce them on its own. The pure plant oils in our Miraculous Facial Oil are rich in Essential Fatty Acids, giving your skin the moisture it needs to stay hydrated, and when balance is restored, overactive sebaceous glands take a breather – leaving you with healthier, more radiant skin!
However, not all oils are created equal. Some products on the market contain mineral oils, which are a by-product of petroleum and can be quite irritating and congesting to the skin. It is fairly easy to tell when a product contains mineral oil, as it won’t be readily absorbed, and will leave a sticky sheeny layer on the surface of your skin. Additionally, these products often contain fillers and additives. Therefore, if a clear complexion is the aim, these oils should be entirely avoided.
Our Miraculous Facial Oil is 100% plant based, and is made up from a blend of pure Organic Rosehip Oil and Organic Evening Primrose Oil. These oils are potent sources of skin boosting antioxidants, and are rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids – preventing free radical damage, and helping your skin stay firm, smooth and hydrated.
Additionally, a high concentration of Vitamin A gives our oil blend the ability to penetrate deep below the dermis, so it is absorbed rapidly and does not leave any sticky residue. If you are left with a greasy feeling, then you are using too much. Our Miraculous Facial Oil is highly concentrated, and so a little goes a long way!
