Our feet work so hard carrying us around all day, and yet they never get any thanks for it. So why not give those hardworking feet a little TLC? Our Foot Massage Cream is a rich blend of pure grapeseed oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, sage essential oil and lemongrass essential oil. These ingredients have been carefully selected and combined to calm and soothe your hard working feet, and provide long lasting nourishment and hydration. So why are these ingredients so great for your soles?
Grapeseed Oil is cold pressed from the seeds of different varieties of Vitus vinifera Grapes. It has a high concentration of vitamin E, and contains 67% Linoleic Acid (an Essential Fatty Acid). Scientific studies have indicated that a high concentration of Linoleic Acid contributes to reduced loss of water from the outer most layer of the dermis, resulting in better moisture retention and smoother skin.
Cocoa butter is a wonderfully sweet smelling lipid that comes from the cacao bean. It is an occlusive emollient, which means that it acts like a barrier to keep skin smooth and soft, and prevent moisture loss. It is also rich is Essential Fatty Acids, giving it the ability to penetrate deep below the immediate skin layer, enhancing moisturisation. Additionally, cocoa butter has strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, boosting the butters ability to neutralise the oxidation effects of free radicals (molecules that damage collagen fibres, causing skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles) – if you have ever seen a cut apple turn brown, you have experienced oxidation first hand!
Shea butter comes from the seeds of the fruit of the African Shea tree, and is naturally rich in Essential Fatty Acids and Vitamins A, E and F, making it incredibly nourishing and moisturising for the skin. Shea butter also contains oleic, stearic, palmitic and linoleic acids, which help protect the skin from water loss, thereby improving moisture retention and preventing drying of the skin.
Lemongrass is a herb native to India and Sri Lanka, and is characterised by a sharp lemony scent. Witch doctors have used lemongrass for centuries as a treatment for various skin problems. Lemongrass has strong anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties, helping ward off skin infections. Additionally, it is an analgesic that stimulates circulation and can help reduce pain and inflammation – thereby reducing swelling of the feet and relieving the sensation of “heavy legs” felt by many diabetes sufferers.
These super ingredients make our Foot Massage Cream an excellent treatment for dry and rough skin, helping to deeply nourish, hydrate and protect your soles, leaving them feeling refreshed and revived!
